Lakes Entrance

Whiting can be found around the Footbridge, Post Office Jetty and Floating Dragon, with
best baits being pipis, mussels and worm. Salmon are biting at Eastern Beach and Lake
Bunga. Offshore has been very rough, please take care when heading out through the
Entrance.

Lake Tyers

The best spots for bream are Long Point and Mill Point, taking fresh prawn and live
shrimp.

 Mitchell River

The Grassy Banks, The Cut and down to the river mouth are good for bream. Best
results are being had with prawn, spider crab and shrimp.

Tambo River

Bream are being landed at Burns Flat, Lucerne Paddock and up to Log Hole, using local
prawn, live shrimp, soft plastics and metal vibes.

 Nicholson

Bream can be found at the boat ramp, highway bridge and railway bridge, with most
success on prawn, soft plastics and shrimp.

Metung

Fish are biting on spider crabs, prawn, soft plastics and shrimp along the boardwalk and
up to Chinaman’s Creek. Boxes Creek is also worth a try.

Paynesville

  The best spots for bream are the boat ramp, the structures and the Strait, using live
shrimp, soft plastics and prawn. There are also whiting to be had at the back of Raymond
Island.

Hollands Landing

Try McLennan Strait, the Wood Pile, Holland’s Landing, Bull Bay and Toms Creek for
bream, with success being had on hard body lures, soft plastics and sandworm.

Marlo

Good sized bream are being caught at the Slips, taking prawn and soft plastics. Bream
are now heading upstream in the Snowy River, also give the Brodribb River a try. The
surf beaches are good for salmon and tailor, using pilchards and poppers.

Bemm River

Bream are starting to move to the upper reaches of the Bemm River, success is being
had with local prawn, soft plastics and blades.

Tamboon Inlet

 Bream are now heading up the river system to Furnell Landing, Lake Furnell and towards
Cann River, with local prawn and soft plastics being the best baits.

Mallacoota

The top lake is the best spot for bream, using prawn and soft plastics. There are plenty of
leather jacket around. The surf and Javes Creek beaches are producing salmon.

Omeo High Country

Closed for the season.
